Our team here at Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport are very passionate about our Eco-Policy and we constantly seek to minimise the impact of our operations on the environment. We take the potential negative effects on the environment that the operations of our business can cause very seriously. Some examples of how our policy is implemented and how we continuously try to minimize our footprint on the environment across each of our departments are highlighted below.
Food and Food Management
Glass water bottles are used across all of our meeting rooms and are refilled using our EcoTap.
The majority of our “To-go” coffee cups from our Coffee Dock are reCup branded made with EarthCoating and are 100% recyclable.
No disposable cutlery or other eating utensils are used across our hotel.
Paper straws have replaced plastic straws throughout our Bar, Restaurant and Italian Kitchen.
All internal staff communication is via email.
We use Digital Marketing as much as possible in favour of traditional print media.
We have a towel and bed linen reuse program in place and all of our linen is supplied by a supplier who has their own eco-policy which involves the reduction in the amount of energy they use, to recycle water and heat to reduce their impact, as well as recycling material wherever possible.
All bedrooms need a room key in order to turn on the lights – whereby all electric appliances are turned off when the guest is not in the room.
Newspapers are only available in common areas of our hotel and are slowly being phased out in favour of digital alternatives.
Till receipts from our Bar and Restaurant are given upon guest request in order to save paper used from the till roll.
Motion sensors are established in all offices, automatically turning off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
All office, meeting room lights and equipment shut down when not in use.
All light fluorescent bulbs in our meeting rooms have been replaced with LED bulbs.
Pens in our meeting rooms have been replaced with pencils and paper is only available upon request and not laid out on tables as previously done.
Solar Panels have been installed on our roof since the hotel was built in 2005.
We advise guests to only leave out towels that are required to be washed. Towels left hanging in the bathroom will be left for the guest to reuse, others will be changed.
We also advise guests to use public transportation to access the city centre.
We encourage guests with electric cars to make use of the charging station located in our car park.
